Management note: Thes two lovely gentle and polite people have now stayed with us four times and we consider them to be true friends.  They tend to visit every 2 years and try to time their visit to co-incide with the Kerikeri Street Party which they thoroughly enjoy.  Keen golfers so they find the various courses around the Lodge a real joy.  Over the years their English has improved but our conversations still require much jesticulation and the help of Mr Google.  Sadly our Japanese has not improved.

Such a great break - met every expectation.  Beautiful surroundings & the hosts made us feel very much at home.   88 Lodge ticked all the boxes of what i was looking for.  Would recommend & love to visit again.

Management note:- Wilson spent 7 days with us being his full time in NZ.  He was a keen golfer and walker and recognised our location as being ideal for accessing spectacular golf courses and walking trails of all standards of challange.  As he said 'why waste time travelling around when there was more than enough on our doorstep'.

Excellent service and warm and cosy atmosphere.  Many thanks to our two wonderful hosts.  We hope to come back.

 

Ake Ake (local Vineyard restaurant) recommended the place and they were right, it was great. Wonderful atmosphere, fun times, breakfast was always delicious.  Geoff & Chris were fabulously entertaining and we loved the garden & Rocco.

Management Note:-

With 5 available rooms at 88 Lodge we are the exception in the local B&B trade (where one or two rooms is the norm) in as much that we may have a spare room. Our trade colleagues know this and when they have a double booking a call to 88 Lodge will often sort out their problem.  This is exactly what happened for Connal & Natalie.  Having flown in from the UK, to attend the wedding of a friend the next day, the last thing they wanted was to find there was no bed for them on their first night in NZ. We were delighted to come to their assistance.

We had a lovely breakfast and a terrific sleep.  Thank you so much for everything. The private entrance is great, so that we dont disturb others.
