A day on the Bay

Being Bed and Breakfast owners in the Bay of Islands there is one little perk we love to enjoy.  Every now and then we get treated to a ‘Famil’.  This is where we are treated to one of the many activities available to our guests locally.

We have just been treated to experience ‘The Cream Cruise’ and what a wonderful day it was.  Please scroll through the wildlife photos we took that day.  I was not quick enough nor a clever enough photographer to also get photo’s of some of the many other animals we saw.  These included: -

Little Blue Penguins.

Sun Fish

Australian Gannets, Cormorants, Pied Shags, Terns, Variable Oystercatchers, NZ Dotterel, Shearwaters and no end of other sea and shoreline birds,

A red Jellyfish the likes of which the cruise captain had never seen before during a lifetime on the water in the Bay.

However the find of the day was the Hammerhead Shark.  Not the best of photos but quite clear what it is.

A trip to The Bay of Islands is a ‘must-do’ and be sure to ensure you plan a real good length of time here and fit in this day cruise getting up close and personal to the Bay’s magnificent offering of wildlife and unique geological features.

It's not many who receive ‘HALL OF FAME’ status. This makes us a B&B not to be missed
