Bay of Islands wildlife – Orca’s (Killer Whales)

Orca (more commonly known as The Killer Whale) is a regular visitor to The Bay of Islands and a tall dorsal fin is often spotted gliding through the beautiful blue seas but rarely do these stunning animals give photo opportunities like this.

This picture was taken this week by a crewmember aboard a Fullers Great Sights cruise heading towards the famous ‘Hole In The Rock’.  This cruise continually comes upon wildlife on, under or around this wonderful piece of New Zealand.  It is always a memorable trip.  Also please check out our News article ‘A Day on The Bay’ from 11th November 2013 showing a Hammer Head Shark.

We are always happy to arrange for you to join this cruise or any other of the many tours and activities available locally.

It's not many who receive ‘HALL OF FAME’ status. This makes us a B&B not to be missed
